The most popular alternative methods are job enrichment and job enlargement. The effective and efficient design of workplaces must be compatible with the organizational structure of the company and its specificity, management methods, and defined objectives.

i) Job Enlargement:
Job enlargement is the horizontal expansion of a job by adding more tasks at the same level of responsibility and complexity. It involves increasing the number of tasks that an employee performs, thereby reducing the monotony of the job and making it more varied. Job enlargement aims to increase job satisfaction by providing employees with a broader range of activities, making their work more interesting.

ii) Job Enrichment:
Job enrichment is the vertical expansion of a job by adding tasks that increase the level of responsibility and involvement in the job. It involves giving employees more control over their work, including decision-making authority, and providing opportunities for personal growth and development. The goal of job enrichment is to make the job more rewarding and to enhance employee motivation by allowing them to experience a sense of achievement and fulfillment.
