The following are types of names prohibited by the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2004:
- Names that are identical to existing company names or so similar that they could cause confusion.
- Names that suggest affiliation with government bodies without authorization.
- Names that are deceptive or likely to mislead the public.
- Names that contain offensive or objectionable terms.
- Names that imply that the company has the ability to engage in activities that it is not legally allowed to perform. (10 Marks)
